How To Make Your Blog Stand Out

Starting up a blog can be pretty exciting. Unfortunately, with the number of blogs out there, yours can easily get lost in the mix. Because of this reason alone, many people tend to give up on their blogs before even reaching the third month. After all, spending time on putting up content on your blog just so no one will read it can get pretty discouraging. One thing you should know is that there are a lot of ways you can improve traffic on your blog. Basically, your aim should be on making your blog stand out. There are many people out there with blogs similar to yours but somehow, you should attract people to your blog and make them want to come back again. Although it may seem hard at first, once traffic begins in your blog, it will continue. Here are six ways you can make your blog stand out.

  1. Pick a niche

A niche is a topic that is most suitable for you. In a way, it is what you’re good at. Pick one particular niche and revolve your blog around it. Make sure it’s something you can infinitely offer other people your expertise on. After all, you’ll be writing about it regularly. Don’t worry if you want to make a blog on several topics, just make sure you highlight each area on the navigation bar of your blog. Some of the most popular blog niches nowadays include fashion, parenting, crafting, and more.

  1. Publish good content

You can’t just write passively—you have to make your content stand out. After all, blogs are solely based on content so you have to make it as good as you can so people who visit will remember your blog. Good content is not based on quantity, but on quality. The more number of words there are in your post doesn’t mean the better it will be. Usually, quality content is long because of the detail it contains, but the length is not the reason it’s good. If you repeat ideas and words just to make a post longer, you’ll only bore your readers. Take time in creating your content. Be controversial if you want. Just make sure you can grab attention.

  1. Make it easy to read

An entire page full of words will scare off visitors so find a way to make your content easier to read. You can either do this by making lists or by separating the content into different subheadings. The reason behind this is because people would prefer to read posts that are easier to digest and don’t require a lot of thought. For instance, people would rather read a post about the top 10 quarterback than a long, comprehensive post about the quarterbacks that matter.

  1. Use a great headline

The content of your blog is not the only thing that requires a lot of thought every time you publish—the title or headline of your post does as well.  Use bold, killer headlines that can catch people’s attention and make them want to click on your post. Without a strong headline, people will more likely ignore your content.

  1. Design it well

A good design can leave a good impression on your blog. This doesn’t necessarily mean that you have to spend some money for a good, custom design. Just make sure you have a unique logo that will match the colours and the layout of your blog.

  1. Use quality images and graphics

Nowadays, pixelated images and graphics just won’t cut it. After all, blogging and social media have become increasingly visual over the past few years. Make sure you use high-quality images that are appealing to look at. This will make your blog look more professional and will increase the chances of your post getting shared. Stock images with watermarks are terrible, as well. As much as possible, take your own photos with a high-quality camera and edit it to your liking.
