Ten Awesome Ways To Repurpose Old Cribs

Going shopping for babies can be incredibly exciting and fun. The problem though is that babies outgrow everything pretty quickly. In just a few months, you’ll have to put away all the first things you bought, including clothes, socks, mittens, bonnets, and of course, the crib. Some prefer to donate their child’s old items while others become extremely sentimental towards these things. You can store the old clothes in a box, but what about the crib? If it’s hard for you to let the crib go, then just turn it into something useful. This way, you won’t have to throw it away and it won’t uselessly take up some space. Here are ten awesome ways you can repurpose old cribs.

1. Playhouse

Once your kid has grown out of their crib, you can turn it into a playhouse that’s appropriate for their age. Turn the crib upside down then nail it on the wall and place the mattress below it.

Remove the guard rail of the side facing away from the wall then place your kid’s toys inside and above it.

2. Recreation table

If your kid has started going to school, it would be a good idea to turn their old crib into their study or recreation table. Remove one of the side rails and remove the mattress then decorate the table any way you want. You can add a small storage shelf on the bottom of the crib or you can paint the surface with chalkboard paint so the kids can write on it freely. Add some chairs to finish it off.

3. Bench

5. Storage

You can hang the rail of the crib vertically then use some hooks to hang up materials on the rail. You can hang up small containers for pens and pencils and you can even hang up a small rack to hold paint and other craft materials.

6. Mini-garden

If you don’t have any space outdoors to set up a garden then make a small one using a crib. All you really need to do is add a planter on the crib to hold your plants. Make sure you only plant small plants such as herbs since the size and depth of the soil won’t accommodate large plants with big roots.

7. Day Bed
